The Seattle Central College (SCC) Dental Programs prepare dental professionals for the workplace, service to the community, and the dynamic roles in oral health care. The Dental Programs promote educational excellence through liberal and technical education in a diverse multicultural urban environment where scientific knowledge, skill development and societal changes are achieved.

The program website describes the dental hygiene profession, career opportunities for dental hygienists, program pre-requisite courses, physical demands on dental hygienists, important dates/deadlines, information session dates/times, and informational documents.

All criteria requested in this application must be met to be considered an applicant.  You must have an ctcLink EMPL ID to log into the application page.  The application is saved when navigating through each step of the application or at log out.  However, DO NOT hit the "Submit" button at the end of the application until all steps are finalized and supporting documents have been uploaded.  Changes cannot be made once "Submit" has been hit.  Once the "submit" button is hit, a $35 application fee must be paid with a credit or debit card.

To be eligible for interview selection, the following must be completed by January 15th:

  • All pre-requisites completed with 2.5 or better GPA in each prerequisite course
  • Unofficial transcripts uploaded
  • Approved credits by direct transfer uploaded
  • Pre-requisite worksheet uploaded
  • ATDH test scores received (Choose Seattle Central College AH)
  • Submit proof of a minimum of 80 hours of Community Service
  • Complete proctored essay by January 15th
  • Payment of online application fee

SCC DA/EFDA/Worker Retraining Pathway should complete the above criteria along with providing the following:

  • SVI/SCC unofficial transcript
  • Current WA RDA 
  • Current CDA certificate
  • Current EFDA license
  • Worker Retraining Program Approval

Extra application points can be awarded for the following:

  • graduate of SCC's DA and/or EFDA programs
  • CDA certification and/or EFDA licensure
  • 2,000 hours experience as Neighborcare Health DA or front office assistant
  • verified U.S. Military service (current or honorable separation) with DD214
  • previous bachelor or higher degree (submit official transcript to credential office AND upload copy with application)
