Expanded Function Dental Auxilliary (EFDA) Certificate Program
Class of 2026 Application opens April 2025
The Seattle Central College (SCC) Dental Programs prepare dental professionals for the workplace, service to the community, and the dynamic roles in oral health care. The Dental Programs promote educational excellence through liberal and technical education in a diverse multicultural urban environment where scientific knowledge, skill development and societal changes are achieved.
The program website and "SCC EFDA Program Admission Information Packet" describe the EFDA profession, career opportunities, program pre-requisite requirements, physical demands on EFDAs, important dates/deadlines, information session dates/times, and informational documents.
All criteria required in this application must be met to be considered an applicant. You must have an ctcLink EMPLID to log into the application page. The application is saved when navigating through each step of the application or at log out. DO NOT hit the "Submit" button at the end of the application until all steps are finalized and supporting documents have been uploaded. Changes cannot be made once "Submit" has been hit.
Once the "submit" button is hit, a $35 application fee must be paid with a credit or debit card.
- In addition to this online application, eligible candidates must complete an on-site manual dexterity assessment. See SCC EFDA Program Admissions Information Packet.
Manual dexterity assessments are done by appointment in the month of October. Contact DentalPrograms@seattlecolleges.edu to schedule.
- Applications and manual dexterity assessment must be complete by October 31, 2025.
- The top complete and qualified applicants will be invited to attend a mandatory SCC EFDA Program Orientation in early November 2025 (exact date TBD)
- Program begins classes on Monday, January 5, 2026.
